Top 05 Hacking Incidents

Hacking has become so common that even school kids are hacking the websites which are highly confidential. Some of the hacking incidents or recent times are so damaging that they can even amaze as well as horrify the readers. The top 10 hacking incidents of the last few years are:

1. 1990:

In early 1990s a person named as Kevin Mitnick who is also known as the father of hackers, hacked the whole computer systems of world’s top telecommunication companies. The companies who suffered the hacking incident included Nokia, Motorola, Sun microsystems and Fujitsu. All of the technical professionals were amazed of the hacker’s intelligence. Kevin Mitnick was arrested by FBI but later on he was released without any special punishment.

2. 1993:

In this incident a whole team of hackers were involved who called themselves as the Masters of Deception. There actual target was the telephone system. The hackers gained access to the private calls of the National Security Agency, Bank of America and AT & T. they created such a system which allowed them to access even the long-distance calls.

3. 1996:

The hacking incident which took place in 1996 attacked the Omega engineering systems which were the supplier of two really important departments of America i.e. the NASA and the US navy. An American hacker planted a logic bomb in the system of Omega engineering which deleted everything from the operating system with the huge explosion. This hacking incident not only harmed the Omega engineering but also caused damage to NASA and the US navy. The logic bomb caused a loss of $10 million to the Omega Engineering.

4. 1999:

This hacking incident involves the virus named as Melissa. The virus showed its appearance first time during this attack and may be this is the reason of so much destruction it caused globally. Melissa was spread all over the world deleting the whole data and operating systems of almost 400 countries. This huge incident caused a loss of almost $400 million. The person behind this blunder was a hacker named as Smith. After this hacking attack, he was arrested and imprisoned for almost five years.

5. 2000:

In 2000 a hacker who was known as the Mafia boy hacked almost seventy two computers and gained access to the operating system of some really large websites like eBay, yahoo and Amazon. No one knows the actual name of the hacker because his real name is not so famous. He hacked all this system two times in the same month i.e. February. But luckily he was caught and arrested in the same month. He actually accessed all those seventy two computers and by using their private data he attacked these globally famous websites that I mentioned above.

None can doubt the veracity of this arlitce.

Kevin Mitnick served time in prison. He is the first person in the history of the United Sates denied the right to trial for bail. Saying that “he was released without any special punishment” is a major critical error. Free Kevin!!!
